Well, it is Saturday afternoon and I am up at the farm. Not a drop of rain in sight, they didn't even get any rain when Melbourne got theirs last week. It's awful. Wallan on the Hume Highway is just black from the fires. The trees are black silhouettes along the roadside and one can see some burnt out buildings along the way. Our family knows a few people that have been affected and it will take them a long time to get over the nightmare, if at all.
Went to both Benalla and Wangaratta today, two different directions but about the same distance each way from the farm. Had breakfast at our "haunt" in Benalla. The waitress knows what we want by now. Did a bit of looking around there then headed into Wangaratta to mums' favourite horse shop! lol By the time we got home it was after 1pm. Time DOES fly!
Restful afternoon, study, reading etc. til we have to go out to feed the "girls" (horses) and we will sit outside for a while when they are eating and have a drink and some nibblies. Peaceful.
TTFN,
Bug

I agree its very relaxing and peaceful to spend some time connecting to "nature" especially if there is a bit of a view with some depth.
ReplyDeleteHi Suebug, Here's hoping for some rain. It would be nice to see green lawns and nature strips again.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the best way to spend a weekend, Suebug. I like the art gallery at Benalla.. love one of the Boyd paintings there of a blue gum tree.
ReplyDeleteHi Suebug
